Williams-Bowers opts to stay with AFC Wimbledon
AFC Wimbledon have been given a boost by the news that one of their up and coming young teenagers has turned down a move to Fulham.
13-year-old Reece Williams-Bowers, who has been with Wimbledon's centre of excellence since he was 9-years-old, was wanted by the premier league side but the teenager turned down this opportunity opting to stay with The Dons.
Jeremy Sauer, AFC Wimbledon centre of excellence manager, told the official website: 'Fulham contacted us about Reece, but he has turned them down and shown his commitment to us.
'That shows the quality that we have now in our youth development programme. Reece is a strong and powerful forward, who has been with us since he was in the U10s.
'We see Reece as Wimbledon through and through and believe that he could potentially move up towards the first-team at Wimbledon in the future. Hopefully, this shows the rest of the schoolboys in our youth set-up that they can stay here and progress.'
