22,000-capacity stadium planned
Kingsmeadow has been AFC Wimbledon's home for a decade but a return to their "proper home" is something that has always been planned.
Returning to the borough of Merton has always been the intention and proposals to redevelop the stadium on Plough Lane, yards from the old one, have been put forward with a letter sent to the council outlining the clubs proposal.
A community facility, encapsulating all that is good about Wimbledon and it's community spirit, with a stadium capacity of 12,000, but with scope for an increase of another 10,000 as the club continues to grow, has been mooted with Merton council providing "strong support" for the bid so far.
It's always been the dream for The Dons to properly return home and this is moving a step closer to fruition...
