'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Result: Stevenage 3-1 AFC Wimbledon

AFC Wimbledon's participation in this season league cup, newly renamed the Capital One Cup, was a short-lived one following defeat to Stevenage.

An own goal for Pim Balkestein (14) and a mistake in The Dons goal by Seb Brown allowed James Dunne (38) to put the hosts in control before Brendan Kiernan (41) gave Wimbledon hope heading into the half time break...

This hope was as short-lived as Wimbledon's survival in the COC this season as an injury time goal at the end of the first-half from Mark Roberts (45+2) secured the league one outfits place in round two and a 3-1 win.

The official website will be the place to visit for a full report - click here.

Stevenage were always going to be a tough opponent but Terry Brown will be disappointed that The Dons were the "architects of their own downfall" at times!

Ahh well, as the saying goes Wimbledon can now "concentrate on the league"...
