It had been a long time since AFC Wimbledon felt the feeling they did at Wycombe on Saturday afternoon. That feeling was the feeling of victory, which was last tasted on the opening day!
Defeat in midweek costs Terry Brown his job with the first task of caretaker manager Simon Bassey to take The Dons to fellow strugglers Wycombe.
Byron Harrison having a glorious chance to give the visitors the lead just after the half hour mark from the penalty spot. The club record signing failed to do this as he was denied by Elliot Paris (the loan signing from Cardiff making his home debut) who saved the spot-kick!
Wimbledon didn't have to wait long though to make amends when Sammy Moore (40) scored a brilliant goal just before the break to send them in one-nil up at half time.
Little was offered in way of reply in the second half with Wimbledon seeing out a 1-0 win, a defeat that cost Gary Waddock his Wycombe job shortly after the result.
