Long freekick earns Dons a point

AFC Wimbledon 1-1 Aldershot
17th November 2012

Kingsmeadow

AFC Wimbledon left it fairly late but an equaliser is an equaliser and they managed this at Kingsmeadow on Saturday to rescue a point against Aldershot.

A goalless first half looked on until The Dons failed to clear a corner and deep into injury-time and Dani Lopez (45+3) was able to score his first goal in English football to send Aldershot in one-up at the break.

The visitors could have wrapped up the points but a failure to do this always left Wimbledon in the game and it was lucky 13 for them as with 13-minutes to play Stacy Long (77) drove home a freekick to earn Wimbledon a 1-1 draw.
