Hylton Worth The Wait
It took a while for Danny Hylton to finally become an AFC Wimbledon player, and not just this season, but the wait was worth it.
Neal Ardley had been chasing the striker for a while; in fact Wimbledon's pursuit of the striker goes back a number of years. Ardley himself has been trying to land the striker for a few weeks.
It was even contemplated "looking elsewhere" but the wait was worth it with the Rotherham striker coming off the bench to score on his Dons debut in the 2-1 win over Hartlepool on Tuesday.
The Dons boss said: 'It's why these last two-and-a-half weeks of pain I've been through have been worth it.
'It just took a while. Steve Evans; does things the way he does them and it just took a little while to get it over the line.
'A couple of times I was getting near the end of the window and thinking I might have to look elsewhere and I did not want to.
'He's still not fully match fit but hopefully we'll get him there.'
Hylton will be on loan with the club until the end of the season.
