No Rooney Dons Move And Moore Stays

When people hear the name "Rooney" they automatically think Man United and England international Wayne Rooney, however there are other Rooney's out there.

One of them is Luke Rooney and he's been linked with a move to AFC Wimbledon but this isn't going to happen.

The former Swindon winger did have a trial with Wimbledon before Christmas, with this continuing through to this month but injury set him back and Neal Ardley has dismissed the thought that he could sign.

Ardley told Go West London: 'We had Luke Rooney in on trial when he got released from Swindon. We had a look at him in December to see where he was at and he has trained with us through January.

'Ultimately he has got an ankle injury and his fitness levels are not quite where they need to be so that one is looking unlikely.'

Someone that has been linked with a move away from Kingsmeadow is Luke Moore, with league one outfit Gillingham credited with an interested. Ardley doesn't know anything about that and doesn't see him moving on.

He added: 'Luke Moore is our player and as far as I'm aware he is not going anywhere.

'He plays in the hole better than most players in our team. I know he scored on Saturday, but he looked like he was lacking in confidence and I want to restore that because he is an important player for us.'
