Collins Loan Confirmed

Collins Loan Confirmed

Wimbledon have now confirmed the loan signing of Scunthorpe skipper Michael Collins, and he joins us until the end of the season.

The 27 year old midfielder has football league experience going back almost a decade so he's bound to be a quality addition for us, and hopefully he'll be long over the injury problems he has had this season that have limited his opportunities at his parent club.

Ironically he picked up an ankle injury in our game against them back in August, and that has led to a lengthy spell on the sidelines for him, so if lightning doesn't strike twice, he'll no doubt be looking to make up for lost time with us now.

Scunthorpe do have a recall call in place which will kick in on the expiry of 28 days, but unless they suffer serious injury problems, hopefully we have him for the duration.

Collins has strictly been a two man club in his career so far playing for Huddersfield after coming through their youth ranks and then signing for Scunthorpe back in 2010.

In that time has played in 281 games, the vast majority being starts, and he has scored 26 goals across all competitions.
