Ardley - Bennett Ready For Newport Return

Ardley - Bennett Ready For Newport Return

Manager Neal Ardley has revealed that Captain Alan Bennett is good to go in tomorrow's game against Newport County.

Having missed the last two matches with a thigh strain, the player has now returned to training during the week, and comes back into contention for the Good Friday clash.

Sammy Moore also returns to the frame having now spent his two match suspension, but Kevin Sainte-Luce remains out with a knee injury and Tom Richards will have to be assessed prior to kick off following the illness he has suffered that has kept him out of training.

Speaking to the Official Site ahead of the game, Ardley was quick to point out that despite picking up a vital victory in our last game, we aren't safe yet and he's called on the players to give their all again and make sure we get the job done ahead of the last match of the season.

'The last thing we want is to go to Accrington Stanley on the last day needing something. We are definitely not safe and we need to get that out of our minds. My message to the lads this morning is that we should be aiming for 60 plus points. I've emphasised to the players that we will be training hard to win every game and they will have their summer break in three weeks' time.'

Until then, it's about putting every ounce of effort we've got into getting training right, so our preparation is right, and then putting that into practice in the games themselves to ensure we get as many points on the board as possible.

'There's a big feeling amongst us all that we've not quite achieved what we would have wanted and that's disappointing. However, we've got a chance to win four games and we want to finish the season strongly which would provide a good platform for next season.'

As for Newport itself, they are having a good season really given their promotion last term and Ardley knows that it's going to be a tough battle and with players tying the two clubs together, he knows they have quality in their ranks.
