Cox - Futures Are In The Players Hands

Cox - Futures Are In The Players Hands

Assistant manager Neil Cox has said that the players have every incentive they need going into our final game this season against Accrington Stanley, because the management staff at the club have still to make their decisions on the playing squad for next season.

Speaking to the Official Site ahead of the game, Cox said.

'Players are fighting for their futures at this football club. One or two players let themselves down last week and they will have a chance to show what they can do again. It's the last game of the season and we must produce a performance for the supporters. We have a lot of decisions to make in the next two or three weeks. We have improved this season, but not as much as we would have liked.'

Cox goes on to say that our second half performance in the last game really summed up the season we have had as we made silly mistakes and we were hugely punished for them.

In team news the assistant gaffer confirmed that Kevin Sainte-Luce will miss the game again as he has not recovered from his knee injury in time, otherwise it's pretty much a case of how we were.

Sammy Moore has also been talking to the website, saying that the players are determined to make up for the loss to Morecambe, and the team know the best way to apologise for that showing is by performing this weekend.

'The fans here were one of the main reasons why I came to this club and there are no better supporters in this league. We owe the fans after last week and we will try to put that performance right. We will go there with a game plan that we've worked on all this week in training. If we go there with the right attitude and put into practice what we've been working on then there's no reason why we cannot come away with three points.'
