Shea Relishing New Opportunity

Shea Relishing New Opportunity

New goalkeeper James Shea has said he can't wait to make the most of the opportunity he now has at Wimbledon having joined us yesterday because he already knows what we're all about courtesy of former boss Dave Anderson.

The 23 year old's performances last season certainly attracted alot of attention his way, but Harrow Borough's gaffer Dave Anderson he says, more than gave him a helpful point in our direction.

Speaking to the Official Site after penning his new deal with us, he explained.

'Dave sat me down and told me all about the history of the club and what it means to him. That was very useful. I'm just glad it's all done now and I've signed. I just want to get started now.'

Shea goes on to say that with manager Neal Ardley signing two keepers yesterday, he's made it very clear to both of them that the No 1 shirt is up for grabd and it will ultimately go to who impresses the most, works the hardest and gets themselves in the best form during our pre season campaign, and this is a challenge that Shea is relishing even though he knows it's going to be difficult to oust Ross Worner from the position.

Shea does already know the club somewhat as well as he spent time training with us last season, so he knows our goalkeeping coach Ashley Bayes as describes him as being 'quality' and a 'brilliant coach' so he's looking forward now to kicking on further by working with him daily.
