Dons Forward Poleon Joins Bradford

Dons Forward Poleon Joins Bradford

AFC Wimbledon's upcoming campaign isn't going to see Neal Ardley able to call upon the services of Dominic Poleon.

The 13 goal man from Wimbledon's impressive first season in League One left Kingsmeadow on Wednesday evening to join Bradford.

An undisclosed fee has secured Poleon, as our friends at Vital Bradford inform us:

London-born Dominic Poleon, who has spent most of his career in the Yorkshire or Manchester, has returned to the area (Yorkshire) as he completed his transfer to Bradford on Wednesday.

Beginning his playing career as a youth team player at Southend in fact, and then Leeds, he undertook loan spells at Sheffield United and Bury before joining Oldham. Poleon has joined Bradford for an undisclosed fee from League One rivals AFC Wimbledon.

Half of Poleon's 49 appearances for Wimbledon last season were made from the substitute bench but the forward still managed an impressive goals return of 13 in all competitions for the Dons.

Stuart McCall, along with those advising his transfer dealings, has seen enough in Poleon, 23, to believe the forward, capable of playing as a central striker and on the wing, can produce the goods at Valley Parade.

Poleon has signed a two year deal to become the fourth Bradford arrival of the summer.

Players come and players go, Ardley will have something up his sleeve to compensate for the loss of Poleon, who will be wished well for the future.

Well, aside from the two League One meetings with Bradford.
